My perfect day in Scottsdale is waking up to the beautiful Arizona sun and having an early morning tour at the Southwest Wildlife Sanctuary. This is a private tour where they take in injured wildlife and rehabilitate them. The surroundings are very rustic. The animals are indigenous to the desert so it is so interesting. Next stop is a great hearty breakfast. Being that this site is close to the Four Seasons, I am now excited to sit outdoors at our new restaurant, Proof and enjoy the Sante Fe Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with a great cup of coffee….delicious! After a satisfying breakfast, I need to keep moving so I head out to Pinnacle Peak Park to hike the Peak. The 700 ft incline definitely gets your heart going. As you approach the top of the Peak it gives you beautiful 360 degree views of the entire Valley looking out at all the mountain ranges. Given this full morning, I am off to relax and prepare for an incredible evening dining experience at Cafe Monarch. This "diamond in the rough" restaurant is unique in that Chef Christopher does it all….including greets you, waits on you, cooks for you…and designed the entire restaurant single-handedly! The food is truly " farm to table" and prepared in the smallest kitchen space with remarkable results. Chef offers three courses for $45 with a BYOB concept. The whole experience is really wonderful. Every day in Scottsdale with the ideal weather is always special!
My favourite local food When I look outside of the beautiful grounds of the Four Seasons, the favorite restaurant to dine is FnB. I love this charming restaurant & the ""farm to table"" concept where Pavle Milic & Charleen Badman's passion is to present locally & regionally sourced ingredients. The intimate ambience reminds me of a European restaurant where the focus is on simple & locally farmed ingredients. Each dish just explodes with flavor on your taste buds! Pavle is so charming and embraces each and every guest as if they were dining in his own home. His passion to provide regional wines has brought Arizona wines into the spotlight. The New York Times recognized his dedicated passion and wrote an article on his wine selection just 6 months into his restaurant opening. Charleen, the renowned chef & partner, is very humble in the impressive reviews that come in on our fabulous dishes. Her leeks gratin with a fried egg was featured on the front page of the Phoenix magazine. That dish is amazing but my numerous opportunities to dine at FnB….I have always been WOW-ed by each and every dish on the menu.
#1 must-do The picturesque drive along State route 89A from Sedona to Flagstaff. Regardless of the season, this is one of the most beautiful drives in all of Arizona.
The best part of being a Four Seasons concierge is… I love people! It is such a rewarding experience to help make each guest's experience very special and memorable. I enjoy planning their activities, special occasions and designing their itineraries specific to their needs. Being creative and understanding how to ""wow"" the guest with suggestions that are unique and very special. I feel so fortunate being a concierge and having the opportunity to meet interesting people from across the world.
Away from Four Seasons, you'll find me… I love entertaining for friends and family. Happy Hour at my bar or fire-pit are my favorite moments!!
Don't forget to ask me about… Hiking and great breakfast/lunch spots. My husband is very involved in the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy so I have a wealth of information on the beautiful trails that the MSC offers. No hike is complete without a great power breakfast/lunch spot.
